About this item

Andreas Feininger's cityscapes of New York City from the 1940s combine an architect's love of precision, space, and technique with an artist's love of sweeping vistas. All aspects of New York City and its buildings attracted the photographer, its people, its cars and traffic jams, its confusion and even its ugliness. He saw the city as a living organism: dynamic, sometimes violent, and even brutal. The New-York Historical Society library boasts a full set of prints from Feininger's book New York in the Forties. On this sleek and handsome lamp is Feiningers Sheeps Meadow, Central Park, ca. 1940s.

Brushed nickel lamp base, high resolution printed shade, harp and finial. Lamps are 21 inches tall. Shades are cylindrical, 7 inches in diameter and 9 inches tall. Bases and shades are UL listed when used together. Maximum wattage for shades is 75 watts. Bulb not included. Sold in heavy-duty, recyclable, reusable gift box with carrying handle. Made in the U.S.A.
