About this item

Our puppy pal Liberty was inspired by the dog depicted in Johannes A. S. Oertels (1823-1909) Pulling Down the Statue of King George III, New York City, 1852-53 The painting portrays the moment in 1776 when, in a fit of high patriotism following a local reading of the Declaration of Independence, rebellious New Yorkers, including the mischevious dog we call Liberty, destroyed the equestrian statue of King George III erected at Bowling Green. This jigsaw puzzle comes in a metal tin that makes it easy for carrying and storing. 54 pieces, 5 x 7 inches.
