In 1913, novel contemporary events such as the unprecedented Woolworth Building, a record shattering architectural achievement, framed the experience of visitors to the Armory Show. Tavik Frantisek Simons (1877 1942) painted a twilight view of the lower Manhattan skyline depicting the Woolworth Building as a soaring spire that we have adapted for this lamp. Notice, too, his captivating work, New York - Brooklyn Bridge, captures the rhapsodizing beauty of the Brooklyn Bridge and the spectacular urban panorama.
