Featuring vibrant red blossoms, the Museum's Tiffany Poppies Umbrella is based on Louis Comfort Tiffany's (1848-1933) leaded glass and bronze Poppy Lamp. Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) is celebrated today as one of the most influential designers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Recently discovered correspondence suggests that Tiffany designer Clara Driscoll (1861-1944), actually designed most of Tiffanys leaded glass lamps and many of his objets dart. In addition to designing, Driscoll managed a large department of young women, known as the "Tiffany Girls," who specialized in selecting and cutting glass for windows, shades, and mosaics.
